Sand-filled pitch and athletics track

Blakedown Sport & Play have completed the last phase of a new development program at Fairfield School in Boiling Wells, Bristol.

The scope of the final works phase - the construction of a new 'astroturf' sports facility - comprised installation of a 15mm in-situ shockpad and surfacing with Edel PP 24mm sand-filled synthetic turf.

The project also included the installation of two artificial turf cricket wickets and bowler run-ups laid onto an engineered tarmac base for stability and true ball-bounce. The wickets were affixed with batting cages and roof netting.

The new sports facility includes a full-size pitch lined for hockey and football, a 100m eight lane athletics sprint straight, three 5-a-side football pitches, and 3 bay cricket wicket with netting.
