Blakedown Sport & Play were employed by the London Borough of Havering to construct a full-size sand-filled (astroturf) hockey pitch, 3G artificial turf pitch, and cricket practice bays at the Brittons School (now the Brittons Academy) in Rainham.
The sand-filled pitch construction included recessed goals, 4m high weldmesh fencing with kickboards, and a full floodlighting system. As well as hockey, sports lines were included for 11-a-side football, plus three cross-play 7-a-side football pitches. Blakedown also installed divider netting to allow each cross-play pitch to be sectioned off.
The hockey pitch was adorned with an annexed 3G artificial turf 7-a-side football pitch and tarmac recess for goal and sports equipment storage. The 7-a-side pitch also had recessed goals.
To complete the project, Blakedown constructed three synthetic turf cricket bays fitted with batting cages and roof netting.
