Blakedown Sport & Play has a long history in designing and constructing natural turf sports pitches that cater to a range of needs, from grassroots to elite football and rugby.

We offer comprehensive support to our clients from the initial concept to the final completion of the project. Our aim is to ensure that your sports pitch not only meets your requirements throughout its lifespan but also fits within your budget.

All our designs adhere to the standards set by Sports England for type 1-7 pitches. Additionally, we take into account various factors specific to your local environment, such as ecology, landscape, water quality, hydrology, traffic and transport, archaeology and cultural heritage, land use, and social and economic factors.

Once planning approval is secured, the installation of a natural grass pitch typically takes between 6-8 weeks, depending on whether you choose to seed or install pre-grown turf. While the pitch may be ready for play either immediately or within 12 months, the actual timeline can be influenced by weather conditions during the installation and immediately afterward. We would provide you with a comprehensive understanding of these factors prior to commencing work.
