Tarmac Sports Surface Construction
A macadam (tarmac) sports surface represents one of the most robust and economical choices of outdoor sports facility available and can be used for almost every recreational sport.
It’s good for playing netball, basketball, tennis and many other sports and activities.
A tarmac sports surface is a two-layered construction featuring a graded macadam base and wearing course providing a porous, frost-resistant surface. Water percolates quickly through the wearing course allowing play to resume soon after rainfall.
Over our fifty years of operating, we have built tennis courts, netball courts, basketball courts, volleyball courts, MUGA’s, playgrounds, and skateparks using this diverse material.
Acrylic Top-Coat
For enhanced performance, the tarmac course can also be sprayed with an acrylic coating to provide a non-slip surface with extended lifespan. These surfaces are very popular in schools and public parks due to being robust, cost effective, requiring very little maintenance, and used for a wide variety of sports and activities.
