Hockey Facility Construction

Blakedown Sport & Play worked to deliver two FIH Category 3 hockey pitches with full fencing and LED floodlighting for Taunton School.

Construction started with site clearance and excavation, followed by the construction of the foundations and kerbs, ready for the engineered tarmac base. Once the engineered tarmac base was installed, it was topped with a 15mm shockpad and TigerTurf Evo Pro carpet with sand infill to establish an elite playing surface. The security of the site was ensured with the addition of 4.5m-high weld mesh fencing and ball stop netting.

Several standout features elevate this facility even further: state of the art LED floodlighting (to meet strict ecology requirements), CCTV security cameras, custom Taunton School equipment, improved tarmac access paths, landscaping enhancements for ecological purposes, and dedicated storage sheds.
