3G MUGA Construction

Contract Value: £240,000

Contract Duration: 10 weeks

The project encompassed the design and construction of a 45m x 40m 3G All-Weather Pitch catering to football and rugby, and a new two-lane ECB-approved non-turf practice cricket facility.

The previous 31m x 35m 3G pitch setup, including fencing, floodlighting, and equipment, was completely removed to make way for the new installation. Excavation work commenced to establish the new area, utilizing on-site material where feasible and transporting excess material offsite as needed.

The development included the implementation of a new drainage system alongside foundational groundwork involving stone subbase, kerbs, and geotextile.

Following this, a tarmac base was laid, complemented by a 16mm preformed shockpad and a FIFA Quality and World Rugby-approved 60mm 3G Carpet for the surfacing.

Line markings were strategically placed to accommodate both 7v7 and 5v5 pitches. Ensuring safety and security of the sports facility, a 4.5m high Twin Bar 8/6/8 fence was installed, equipped with integral rebound panels, security mag lock on the gate, and a new LED Floodlighting scheme.
