Blakedown Sport & Play successfully secured a contract through an open tender process for the extensive renovation of an existing all-weather pitch and its surroundings.

The project involved the removal of the original carpet and insitu shockpad, which were then replaced with a new 15mm insitu shockpad and an FIH approved sand filled surface (TigerTurf Multisport 24) on the revealed tarmac base.

Additionally, the perimeter fencing was completely replaced with a new 50x50mm weldmesh system, complemented by 200mm high timber kickboards due to the previous fencing’s condition.

The project encompassed enhancements such as colour-coating the external path in red for visual impact, upgrading floodlights to LED luminaires, conducting performance testing, and further refurbishing the adjacent multi-use games area.
