3G MUGA Construction

Contract Value: £137,000

Contract Duration: 6 weeks

Blakedown completed the design and construction of a 43m x 33m 5v5 3G pitch along with an external area dedicated to Netball & Basketball.

The project began by setting up a temporary haul road, managing the topsoil by stripping and redistributing it on-site. Construction of the new pitch area started with installing essential features such as land drains, a stone subbase, and kerb edgings, all supported by a tarmac base.

The 3G pitch installation included a 15mm in-situ shock pad and FIFA Quality-approved Edel Grass Soccer Flashblade 40-15, specifically marked for 5v5 play.

To ensure safety and security, the pitch is enclosed by a sturdy 3m high Twin Bar 8/6/8 fence featuring integral rebound panels. Adding to its functionality, an LED floodlighting scheme was installed.

For the external space designated for Netball & Basketball, Blakedown used tarmac surfacing and installed socketed equipment tailored for these sports. To enhance accessibility, a pedestrian footpath connecting the pavilion to the facility was created, ensuring convenient access for all users.
