Hockey Pitch Construction

This project focused on developing a new FIH accredited hockey pitch with advanced amenities.

Groundworks commenced including the removal of old outbuildings, removal of spoil off site, installation of drainage, geotextile membrane, stone subbase and tarmac layer.

New fencing, floodlighting, and an insitu shockpad was installed before the pitch was complete with a cutting-edge S-tec Revolution Xperience Lano sand dressed surface.

The location of the new pitch was within a high-risk flooding area, and hence we implemented a custom-designed hockey fence without traditional timber rebound boards to address environmental concerns.

Associated works for the project included the construction of a new car park, three synthetic cricket wickets with fencing and netting, and the integration of EV charging infrastructure with charging points.

The project was complete in 2023, and in early 2024 Blakedown was also awarded an extension of the project to construct three additional tennis courts and associated works to the site.
