Blakedown Sport and Play were awarded a contract to construct a new 97m x 61m 3G AWP to meet FIFA Quality Standards, along with a 5-a-side natural grass pitch.

To commence the construction, existing structures were removed. Earthworks reshaped the site, and a comprehensive drainage system, geogrid stabilization, 250mm subbase, and tarmac layer were installed.

A 50mm Desso Duo Yarn 3G surface was then installed with line markings for 11v11 and 5v5 football. The surface was infilled with sand and SBR, and extensive brushing ensured the even distribution of the performance infill.

A 4.5-meter twin-bar rebound fencing was installed, along with a 1.2-meter spectator fence in the spectator areas. Additional works included the installation of Trekboards manufactured using 100% recycled raw materials from the old 3G surface, divider nets, boot wipers, contamination grids, LED floodlighting, and storage areas.
