Blakedown completed the construction of a full-size 3G World Rugby and FIFA Quality Standard pitch for Underhill Park in Mumbles, Wales. Construction began with excavation, during which all soil was moved offsite. The installation of drainage, stone subbase, and kerbs followed.
Our in-house team then delivered a high-quality tarmac base. This base was surfaced with a 20mm insitu shockpad and FIFA Quality and World Rugby-approved 60mm 3G carpet. Line markings for both football and rugby were installed, followed by sand and SBR infill. Perimeter fencing, floodlights, and kickboards were also installed as part of the project.
