Blakedown Sport & Play were appointed as Principal Contractor to refurbish the existing hockey pitch to FIH Category 3 standard.

The existing carpet and shockpad were lifted & removed, with the tarmac base cleaned and surveyed for suitability. A new 15mm insitu shockpad was laid and surfaced with the Lano S-Tec Revolution Xperience in a striking blue and red display. This is a high-end sand dressed carpet meeting the employer and FIH requirements. To aid spectator viewing, a 2m wide tarmac path was constructed to enlarge the facility and this was further supported by a full fencing replacement. Specifically, this included new spectator fencing and new 4m high perimeter fencing, as well as new gates, timber kickboards and divider nets.

Other associated works involved new goals, maintenance equipment and a complete replacement of floodlighting infrastructure and upgrade of LED luminaires.
